Abstract

From Introduction: Prior to the implementation of cooked Mid-day meal, raw rice at the rate of 3 Kg per month were provided under NPNSPE to students of Primary stage in this UT. As per the norms pronounced by the Hon’ble Supreme Court on 25/11/2001, cooked Mid-day meal was implemented first in SS Delanipur in Andamans District on 1/3/2002, The Programme was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor. Subsequently, Mid-day meal scheme was extended to the students of primary stage in schools in Nicobars District from 25/4/2002. As a landmark achievement, UT Administration started providing cooked Mid-day meal to the students of middle stage from 1/7/2003.
