I, Introduction: Surat district is situated at the southern part of Gujarat in the geographical co-ordination of 210-21.23 northern Latitude & 72.38 to 74.23 eastern Longitudes. Maharastra State binds the District in the east, Bay of Khambhat in west, Bharuch district in north & Navsari district in south. The total area of Surat district is 7,657 sq.K.M. There are 14 Talukas, and 30 town in the district. Surat is the District Head Quarter on the bank of the river Tapi.en_US
