District Primary Education Programme (DPEP)

Includes all the Joint Review Missions (JRM), Proceedings and Minutes of the meetings held on DPEP.

Mahila Samakhya

This is a concrete programme for the education and empowerment of women in rural areas, particularly of women from socially and economically marginalised groups.

Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)

This Scheme was implemented in partnership with the State Governments with the main objective to make secondary education a good quality available, accessible and affordable to all young persons.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)

The programme aims to provide useful and relevant, elementary education to all children in the 6 to 14 age group by 2010. It is an initiative to universalize and improve quality of education through decentralized and context specific planning and a process based, time bound implementation strategy

Teacher Education

This imparts pre-service teacher education and in-service teacher training at elementary level, district level academic planning by the DIETs, and conversion of around 250 Secondary Teacher Training institutions into Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs), of which 50 would be Institutes of Advanced Studies in Education (IASEs).
