Abstract:	From Introduction: “Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan” has been implemented in the State for the secondary level (i.e. for 9th & 10th classes) w.e.f. 2009-2010 through the existing Himachal Pradesh School Education Society and administrative set up of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan as per the guidelines issued by the GOI. The project is being implemented in the sharing pattern of 75:25 (75% for GOI and 25% for State govt.) during the current five year plan. The Programme aims to ensure universal access of secondary education by 2017 (GER of 100%) and universal retention by 2020.
