National Programme of Nutritional Support to Primary Education (Mid Day Meal Scheme) Annual Work Plan & Budget 2007-08 Rajasthan

Abstract

From Introduction: Mid-Day-Meal Programme is being implemented by Mid Day Meal Directorate under Administrative Control of RD & PRD Department in Rajasthan. Mid-Day-Meal is provided to all eligible students studying in approx. 74690 Govt., Govt, aided, school run by local bodies and HGS /AIE centers. State Government started providing cooked meal in mid-day-meal programme from July, 2002. To provide cooked meal, State Government was providing Rs. 0.50 per student per day for conversion charges since July 2002. Under this programme the recipes were ghooghari/Datia etc. From January, 2005 cooking conversion cost was increase to Rs. 1.50/- per student per day. The new recipes were Dal-Bati, Dal-Roti, Roti-Sabji, Sweet / Namkeen Rice, Khichadi, Dalia, Pulav etc. From March 2, 2006 cooking conversion cost was increased to Rs. 11- per student per day. The recipes were Dal-Bati, Dal-Roti, Roti-Sabji. There is provision to provide seasonal fruits once a week along with mid-day-meal.
