Abstract: | From Introduction: Kerala, the Southern most state of India has an area of 38863 sq.km. Its population according to the Census 1991 is 29. 1 million. The Kerala State was formed in the year 1956 by combining the princely states of Travancore, Cochin and the erstwhile Malabar District of Madras Province. The levels of education in these areas were different at the time of formation of the state. The former princely state of Travancore had taken many progressive measures in the field of education and therefore the educational standards in the former princely state of Travancore was higher compared to the other two areas. |
