dc.description.abstract | From Foreword: Universalisation of access to school facilities, participation in schooling and attainments of children, with tine concerns for equity and regional parity and transfer of responsibilities and powers powers for day-to-day management of schools to local communities are the guiding goals of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The problems of access at lower primary stage have been adequately addressed by now as substantive efforts to mainstream even the marginalised out of school children are yielding results. Transition rates from lower to higher primary levels as well as extending the length of the school to the eighth year are still problems concerning access which are being currently addressed. | en_US |
