dc.description.abstractHaryana state came in to independent existence after carveout of Punjab on November, 1966 with the Union Territory Chandigarh as its co-capital of Haryana and Punjab. It is the 15th state in the country in terms of size. This is the land where Lord Krishna imparted the lessons of pious Geeta to Arjuna. On the basis of these lessons a war between Kauravas and Pandavas was fought in the battle field of Kurukshetra which lasted for 18 days followed by three famous wars of Panipat at the battle field of Tarawadi were also fought in this region in 16th and 18th centuries. Panipat district is known for its heroic deeds of the people.en_US
