Abstract

From Introduction: It has been a long cherished desire of human race to excel in every field of life through education. There have been several efforts on the part of trained and enlightened minds to provide better environment and facilities for social, economic and mental development. So, taking into consideration this fact, the gigantic task of providing basic education to all is the main aim of Govt. of India and all the States. The younger generation of the country desires the utmost care and attention towards its educational needs. The ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ is a historic and challenging project towards achieving the goal of universalisation of elementary education through a time bound integrated approach in collaboration with States. The Central and State Governments have registered their top most concern on the task of providing quality education to every child in the age group of 6-14 yrs. enshrined in the constitution of our country. ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ was started in the year 2001-02 having the sole aim of fulfilling its objectives upto 2010.
