National Programme of Mid Day Meal in Schools Annual Work Plan and Budget 2008-09 State - Gujarat

Abstract

From Brief History: As a Slate Govl.'s major initiatives towards its commitment for social welfare and social integration, the Mid Day Meal Scheme was introduced in the state since 1984, wherein the children studying in std. 1 to VII studying in all Govt, primary schools are served with hot cooked meal. The grant-in aid schools were also subsequently covered under this scheme. At present, about 4839001 children studying in 37134 primary schools including AIE centre (Std. I to V) are taking benefits of this scheme.
