Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Jharkhand Report on Appraisal of Annual Work Plan & Budget for 2004-2005 (SSA, DPEP, NPEGEL)

Abstract

In respect of: Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Gumta, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Kodarma, Latehar, Lohardagga, Pakur, Palamu, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Saraikela, Simdega, West Singhbhum. The desk appraisal of the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWP&B) for the year 2004-05 was undertaken In the third week of May, 2004 by an Appraisal Team consisting of Shri. A. A. C. Lai (Convenor), Dr. S.C. Gujaria both from the TSG (Ed- CIL), Dr. G.C. Upadhyay, NCERT and Dr. Sunita Chugh, NIEPA. Father E.A. Augustine representative of the Monitoring Institution XLRI was also invited to join the Appraisal Team but he could not make it because of other urgent engagements. Mr. Praveen Kumar, Director (EE&L), MHRD provided supports and help to the Team in accomplishing the task. The perspective plan for the period 2002-03 to 2006-07 was already appraised last year, therefore the AWP&B for the year 2004- OS in respect of all the districts of Jharkhand were appraised. The District Elementary Education Plans (DEEP) submitted by the State were apprised on the basis of the data and information provided by the districts/State and the comments and suggestions have been given in the report.
