Expert Committe Report for Conferment of Deemed to Be University Status to Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad, Haryana Under De-Novo Category

Abstract

Manav Rachna International University has been registered as a society under Societies Registration Act, 1960 by amalgamating assets and liabilities of under noted 5 institutions under two societies - M.R. Education Society and Uthan Educational Society for which necessary legal formalities have been completed. Manav Rachna International University is proposed to be established as Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 under de-novo category by integrating 6 existing Institutions. The oldest Institution was established by M R Education Society in 1997 in the name and style of Career institute of Technology and Management with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (Haryana). Career Institute of Technology and Management offers 7 Undergraduate Programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering and 3 Postgraduate Programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Manufacturing and Automation Engineering and Business Administration with a combined annual intake of 756. The institute was granted accreditation by NBA for 3 UG Courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering for a period of 3 years w.e.f. March, 2004 and has since reapplied for accreditation with NBA for 4 UG courses in Engineering and Technology for which visit of the Expert Committee has been conducted on 29.06.2007 and the result is awaited.
