Abstract: The estimates of Gross Fixed Capital Formation (G.F.C.F.) indicate the growth potential of the economy. Higher the growth rate of Capital Formation, higher would be productive capacity of the economy. At the State level the estimates of Gross fixed Capital Formation are not readily available for the economy as a whole. For this purpose data would be required from State Non -Departmental Commercial Undertakings (NDCUs), Urban & Rural Local bodies, State & Central Govt. Administrative Departments, Supra regional sectors, Central Govt. Departmental Commercial Undertakings (CDCUs) , Central Govt. Non-Departmental Commercial Undertakings ( CNDCUs ), Private Corporate Sector and House hold Sector. Since the data from all these sources is difficult to come, it was decided that estimate of Gross Fixed Capital Formation flowing from State Govt. DCUs and NDCUs may first be prepared.
