Report of the Steering Committee on Nutrition for the Tenth Five Year Plan (2002-2007)

Abstract

The Steering Committee on Nutrition reviewed in depth the programmes for improving the nutritional status, progress achieved, gaps and shortfalls in achievement and came up with the recommendations for the Tenth Plan. For the first time monitorable goals of processes and impact indicators to be achieved by 2007 have been set taking into account the goals set in the related sectors such as agriculture, food distribution, health and family welfare so that they are in harmony with the goals set by the individual Departments implementing the programmes.
