Abstract: The Mahila Samakhya Program (MSP) is a unique initiative launched under the department of education of HRD Ministry. The program aims at creating a TIME AND SPACE for rural women, a pre- condition for the process of empowerment of women. It has been implemented in three states in the country, Karnataka, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, in some select districts. The program has been in operation since 1989, in these areas.
