Abstract

Year after year after year - Year comes and years go. Annual reports are written and rewritten. New events, new processes, new experiences in the same old structure. The structure which has its foundation stone laid in 1988. New Education Policy (1986) and its plan of Action focussed on women's education with a new dimension. Cultural and social attitudes, regional, community, caste, religious taboos and above all the position of women within the family and the social structure needs to be addressed to create an impact. The programme of education for women's equality was designed and ten districts of three states - Gujarat, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh were selected for its implementation.
