Abstract

From Foreword: This report of 1996 - 97 looks two ways - backward into the first phase of MSUP and forward to the next phase, It recapitulates the past year while taking into account all the years gone by since the Inception of the programme. It also has the seeds of the next phase along with a vision of autonomy of sanghas, the changing dimensions of the programme, the women’s lives and actions, their strengths and their commitment to break free. But breaking free would also mean looking at a different kind of continuity, evolving new paradigms and a future vision.
