dc.description.abstractThe district of Ratlam is situated in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the border districts of the state, the effect of which can be seen in its culture which has the glimpses of the Rajasthani culture. The district is spread over an area of 4861 sq. km. and is one of the smaller districts of the state. The population of the district as per the 1991 census is 9.71 lac. The population density of the district is 200 per sq. km. as compared to 149 for the state.en_US
