Abstract

From Introduction: The level of attainment of education is an indicator for the human resources development of any nation. Upholding the task in mind every country evolves effective strategies to achieve the goal. Article 45, of the Indian constitution has emphasized that compulsory and free elementary education should be guaranteed for all the children in the age group of 6-14 within a period of 10 years from the commencement of the Constitution. Even though many schemes were implemented, for achieving the targeted goal of UEE, it is still eluding our grasp. However, as an alternative to many of the previous initiatives a mega project, the DPEP, was introduced in the select districts of our country, where the female illiteracy was relatively high.
