dc.description.abstractFrom Executive Summary: The Mahila Samakhya Programme was officially launched in Assam in the year 1995. However, the actual fieldwork for the programme started only in 1997. The rural women of Assam were introduced to the philosophy and vision of MS during the months of June to August 1997. It was started in a few villages in the three districts, Darrang, Dhubri and Morigaon. Awareness programmes comprised the four components, viz.. Education, Economics, Health, and Law etc.en_US
