Abstract

From Introduction: Higher Education provides people with an opportunity to reflect on critical social economic, cultural, moral and spiritual issues facing humanity. It contributes to National Development through acquisition and dissemination of specialised knowledge and skills. It is, therefore, a crucial factor for survival. Higher Education being at the apex of the educational pyramid, it has also a key role in producing teachers for the whole education system. Therefore, higher education has to be both- Light- bearing and fruit- bearing more the former than the latter. On the other hand it is also being increasingly felt that the education is to be linked with productivity.
