| Abstract: | From Foreword: The Punjab Agricultural University Act, passed by the State Legislature, received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on 13th October, 1961. The University came into existence in 1962 to serve the then State of Punjab. On the reorganisation of Puniab, an ordinance was promulgated to provide for the establishment of two independent Universities for the two States—Punjab and Haryana. This ordinance was subsequently replaced by an Act of the Parliament namely 'The Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, 1970'. |
