| Abstract: | From General Education: The Education Directorate was set up as early as the year 1954. In that year there were only 88 educational institutions which has today risen to 761, including 165 pre-school centres. The enrolment which was only 2,5000 in 1954 is today 83,337 including about 5,000 pre-school children. |
