dc.description.abstractSarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Programme, the comprehensive and integrated flagship programme had deeply contemplated to attain Universal Elementary Education by 2010. With a view to materializing this ambitious goal into reality gamut of educational data is a must. In this context, the District Information System for Education (DISE) was designed to provide District and Block level school data for planning, monitoring and reviewing of various project interventions. DISE is an annual exercise with a uniform record date of 30th September. The DISE data collected from .schools are computerized at the District level and disseminated up to the school level in diversified ways. The Data Capture Formats so designed used for data accumulation are followed uniformly across states.en_US
