Abstract: This report on “ Planning Schools for India” is the joint outcome of a team set up at the Centre by the Ministry of Education. The team consisted of a T.C.M. Expert, an Officer of the Ministry of Education and a Senior Architect from the Central P.W.D. This team made a study of the existing literature on school designing, elicited the present status of school buildings in this country and organized five regional seminars with a view to coordinating ideas, experiences and practices of all those concerned with schools—educationists, administrators, architects and engineers.
