Abstract

From Introduction: The Annual Plan for 1984-85 represents the last organised effort of the Government to fulfil the objectives of the Sixth Five Year Plan. The developmental efforts set in motion during the Sixth Five Year Plan have had to contend with some set backs such as communal tension in 1960 and natural calamities the worst of which has been the unprecedented floods of August, 1983. Nevertheless, as indicated in the various Chapters relating to the sectoral performances there have been areas of substantial achievements.
