Abstract: From General Education: Consolidation and improvement of the educational standards in the schools of the State have been accorded the highest priority during the current year. Attempts have been made to make good the backlog not only in the availability of teachers in the various teaching units but also in the provision of physical facilities. Regarding the latter aspect the Government have sanctioned a scheme through which classrooms are constructed by nominated individuals who would be given materials and cash to a limited extent. The scheme has come up well and it is hoped that many more class rooms would be constructed in this manner in the near future.
