Abstract: From A Brief History of District Sangrur: District Sangrur comprises of the parts of three erstwhile Phoolkian States viz. Jind, Nabha and Patiala and Malerkotla covered by Nawab Malerkotla. The Tehsils of Sunam and Barnala at one time, were the parts of erstwhile Patiala State. Sangrur was the capital of erstwhile Jind State and Dhanaula & Barber were the parts of the erstwhile Nabha State.
