dc.description.abstractThe estimated enrolment of children in classes I-V in 1977-78 is 2,34,000 (1,24,000 boys and 1,10,000 Girls) which is 140% the children of the age group 6-11. There is a very large percentage of under-age children attending primary schools. It is not possible nor desirable to stop these under-age children from coming to school. They should rather be encouraged to continue attending school to ensure universal enrolment in Class-I when they attain 6 years of aqe.en_US
