Abstract

From Preface: The Ministry of Education and Culture has been bringing out an annual statistical publication “Education in India” based on statistics collected from State Education Directorates. Upto 1975-76, the numerical data, financial , and examination results were published in one single volume. Consequent to introduction of the revised system collection of educational statistics with effect from 1976-77, involving staggering of collection of numerical data, financial data, and examination results with the objective of reducing the time lag, “Education in India” came to be published in three volumes: Vol. I relating to numerical data, Vol. II relating to financial data, and Vol. III relating to examination results. The document is in Hindi and English.
