Report on Fourth All India Educational Survey in Karnataka 1978

Abstract

From Foreword: We are happy to bring this report on the IV All India Educational Survey in Karnataka sponsored by the Government of India and administered through NCERT. The Government of India have accorded high priority to the programme of universalisation of elementary education in the Sixth Plan. Realisation of the goals of Universalisation of elementary education and the implementation of the scheme in the Country called for the provision of schooling facilities in the individual habitations, increasing proportion of enrolment and improving the basic facilities in schools. All these had to be made on the basis of an up to date baseline data. This necessiated the conduct of IV -All India Educational Survey.
