Draft Annual Plan 1989-90 Volume - II Education Department

Abstract

Education plays the most vital role in the development of a State. The Draft Annual Plan 1989-90 proposes to bring improvement in Educational Facilities and expansion of education with special emphasis to achieve the constitutional objective of Universalisation of Elementary Education. It still remains a far cry with 20,79% of rate of Literacy in the State according to 1981 census. Thus Elementary Education and Adult Education are the priori'v items in the plan as they are the important components of 20 Point Programme 1986 and come under Revised Minimum Need Programme, Also the guidelines of National Policy of Education - 1986 have been kept in mind while formulating the Plan.
