dc.description.abstractFrom Introduction: In persuance of the Directive Principle of State Policy to provide free and compulsory education upto the age of 14, the State Government has sought to provide a big net work of Educational facilities throughout the State by way of opening large number of educational institutions from year to year. This has resulted into bringing the 62.66% of the children of the age-group 6-11 and 28.24% of the age group 11-14 by the end of V five year plan. If we take the age group 6-14, about 50% of the total children are in schools and the rest 50% are out of schools. The all India percentage of enrolment in the age group 6-11 is 84.9 and in the age group 11-14 is 39.8. Thus as compared to national norms, we are far behind.en_US
