dc.description.abstractThe Fifth Plan ended in the year 1977-78 by curtailing one year from the original plan period and the Sixth Plan has been stepped in the year 1978-79. The emphasis has been given to consolidate the containing schemes and expansion of Technical Education by introducing some new schemes to cater the requirement of Technical manpower in the country in general and North-Eastern Region in Particular. To achieve this end in view it has been proposed to strengthen the existing institutes by providing more physical facilities like institutional buildings, workshops, Laboratories, Staff Quarters, students Hostels, Equipments and other facilities.en_US
