XXVth Annual Report 2009-2010 Goa University

Abstract

From Preface: This Annual Report is presented, as per our annual practice, in six parts comprising (I) University Authorities and Boards, (II) University Departments, Centres and Programmes, (III) Achievements of the University Faculty, (IV) General Administration, (V) Affiliated Colleges, and (Vi) Recognized institutions. The Report largely covers the profiles and activities of the post graduate departments at the University and the significant achievements of both the members of the faculty and the students. The section on affiliated colleges mirrors the activities that are undertaken by.the professional and non-professional colleges affiliated to this University. This Annual Report spans the Silver Jubilee Year of Goa University. The Silver Jubilee Year was observed with great fervour with a large number of national and international conferences hosted by the University departments during this period. The period also witnessed visit to the University of such luminaries as Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Prof. Prabhat Patnaik, Ambassador Lalit Mansingh among others. During the year of the Silver Jubilee of its foundation, the University was also privileged and honoured by the gracious presence of Her Excellency Smt. Pratibha Devising Patil, Hon’ble President of India, at the 22nd Annual Convocation held in November 2009. This Annual Report makes an attempt to capture some of those moments.
