dc.description.abstractIntegrated Child Development Services scheme, launched by the Govt. of India on 2nd October, 1975, was also adopted simultaneously in the State of Haryana with specific objective of improving the nutritional and health status of children in the age group of 0-6 years and enhancing the capabilities of mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child. An evaluation study of the programme was undertaken to assess the working, performance and impact of the various services provided under the programme. This department has already done an evaluation study in 1991. This study also shows follow up action taken by ICDS department on suggestions/recommendations of the study conducted in 1991. The study has brought into focus certain bottlenecks/shortcomings in the implementation of the programme, corrective measures have been suggested to cover/minimize these short-comings.en_US
