Abstract: From Highlights: Andhra Pradesh lies between 12° 37' and 19° 54' north latitude and 76° 46' and 84° 46' east longitude. It is bounded on the north by the states of Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, and Orissa; on the west by Karnataka, and Maharastra and on the south by Tamilnadu and Karnataka. The geographical area of the state, the fifth largest in the country, is 275000 Sq. Kms. The state has the longest coast line (972 Kms.) among all the states in India.
