Abstract

The Hand Book mainly contains Population Characteristics of Census-2001 such as Gender Wise Population, Rural and urban Population, National and State wise Literacy Rates. Growth Rate, Area, Sex Ratio etc. It also contains State Abstract figures as well as District wise information i.e. data pertaining to Type wise and category wise Number of Schools, Gender wise Enrolment and number of Teachers working in schools. It also includes the indicators like Gross Enrolment Ratio, Teacher-Pupil Ratio, Drop-Out Rates and SSC examination results for the academic year 2010-11. This year the total number of schools has increased from 99563 to 101204. District wise previous years data with respect to No. of Schools, Enrolment, Teachers and indicators like Gross Enrolment Ratio, Drop Out Rates and Examination Results of SSC from 2001-02 to 2010-11 are also incorporated in this Hand Book.
