dc.description.abstractFrom Introduction: The broad objectives of the Kerala’s Sixth Plan are maximisation of production in industry and agriculture optimum utilisation of the existing capacity and infrastructure, enhancement of employment opportunities, utilisation of local material and manpower resources, strengthening of the public distribution system, amelioration of the conditions of the weaker sections of the population through the distribution of the fruits of development and bringing about balanced regional development. These objectives are sought to be achieved with the aid of sectoral targets and -strategies enunciated in the Plan. The development programmes for the different sectors as visualised in the Annual Plan proposals for 1984-85 are essentially aimed at consolidating schemes and projects which are continuing and to which the State is committed.en_US
