| Abstract: | The National Council for Teacher Education has been assigned various types of specific as well as comprehensive tasks covering almost all aspects of teacher education. Quality enhancement in teacher education is one of the major assignments before the Council. Towards this, the programme of curriculum development and renewal has since been initiated and as a part thereof, NCTE has developed a competency based and commitment oriented teacher education curriculum focusing on quality and efficiency of teacher education vis-a-vis school education. |
