Education Development in the Fourth Plan (1969-74): Report of the Planning Group on Education

Abstract

A Planning Group on Education under the Chairmanship of Dr. B.D. Nag Chaudhurl, Member(Science) was set up by the Planning Commission in March, 1968 for undertaking preparatory work of- formulating the Fourth Five Year Plan, This Group set up a Steering Committee under the Chairmanship of the Secretary, Union Ministry of Education to put up their proposals. The enclosed Report of the Steering Committee makes an attempt to give a bird’s eye-view of the present position in the field of educational developments in the country and in the light of the various points emerging from this review suggests programmes and policies under various sectors of education. There are also Self-contained papers on some of the important areas.
