dc.description.abstractMid Day Meal Scheme is a flagship programme of Government of India covering 10.54 crore children across the country. Central Government provides 100 percent central assistance for cost of food grains supplied by the Food Corporation of India, Transportation Cost of food grains from FCI godowns to schools, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation charges and Procurement of kitchen devices. The cost for the remaining components viz. Cooking Cost, Honorarium to Cook-cum-Helpers and Construction of Kitchen-cum-stores is shared between the Government of India and States in 75:25 ration for all States and Union Territories except North Eastern States where the sharing pattern is 90:10 between Central Government and State Governments. The Mid Day Meal Scheme is revised from time to time.en_US
