Abstract

The Constitution of India has clearly articulated the social and economic goals for the Republic and has provided roles and responsibilities to different levels and organs of Government to achieve the promised social revolution. Ensuring good governance and achieving social and economic justice are among the most important Constitutional goals in independent India’s democratic journey since 1950. A lot has been achieved; but a lot more remains to be fulfilled.
