Abstract

This brochure gives an analysis of the Budgeted Expenditure for the years 1973-74 (Actuals), 19 74-75 (Revised Estimates) and 19 75-75 (Budget Estimates) in respect of Education, while the data in respect of States and Union Territories wit .1 Legislature has been taken from their respective budget documents relating to the year 1975*76, the data in respect of Union Territories without Legislature and Central Ministries/ Departments has been compiled from respective Demands for Grants of the year under reference * Legislative Assembly was reirived in Gujarat from 19th June, 19 75. The Annual Financial Statement of the State w-as presented in the Parliament on 5th March, 1975a The budget data for this State was available for the year 1974-75 (Revised Estimates) and 1975-76 (Budget Estimates) -in the Demands for Grants of the Government of Gujarat 1975-76. The total educational expenditure of Education Department for the year 1973-74 ( Actuals) was available in the Annual Financial Statement. The sector-wise breakup of the actual 'expenditure for 1973-74 has been adjusted on the basis of sectorial figures for 1973—74 (Revised Estimates).
