| Abstract: | As part of its annual plan exercise, Planning Commission holds sectoral discussions with the officials of State/UT Govts. The discussions precede the annual budget presentation. While participating in these discussions/ officials of the Education Division of the Planning Commission collect data in respect of physical targets and financial achievements of Education Sector/ Sports and Youth Affairs/ Art and Culture for the Annual Plans of State/UT Governments which are compiled and analysed. The data thus generated become an extremely useful tool for analysing the progress of various schemes including MNP (Elementary and Adult Education) . The data are mainly used for internal purposes. |
