Report of The UGC Expert Committee to Assess the Proposal of LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur for Grant of 'Deemed to Be University Status' Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956

Abstract

The University Grants Commission received a proposal from LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur for grant of ‘Deemed to be University’ status. The proposal was placed before the Screening Committee constituted by the Commission to screen such proposals. The Committee, however, did not recommend the visit of an expert committee. The UGC, as per directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development, constituted a review committee to review the rejected proposals. The proposal of LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur was placed before the review committee. The recommendation of the review committee was placed before the Commission in its meeting held on 29th June, 2005.
