Abstract

National income refers to income generated in a geographical region. Also National Income, like, any other incomes, is referred as a flow variable by economists. This means that income is stated with a reference to a time period. To give a definition National Income is "the Money measure of the overall annual flow of goods and services in an economy "during a year. Because the goods and services cannot be added up together, due to variety of units of measurement, the money value is added up. However, it must be emphasized that amount of money circulated in the economy does not give an idea of National Income. It is the volume of goods and services produced in a year expressed in Money terms.
