The Voluntary Sector is being increasingly recognized to play an important role in socio-economic development process. The State Government have also been encouraging participation of Voluntary Organisations, NGOs, SHGs and other People's Organisations in the process of socio-economic development. However, there have been some concerns in different quarters that there is a need for increasing accountability, transparency and good governance within the Voluntary Sector and that there is a need for creating mechanisms for information sharing, grievance redressal and conflict resolution between Government and Civil Society. It has, therefore, been considered expedient that a Task Force may carefully examine such concerns/issues and make recommendations regarding “Strengthening civic engagement for Government-NGO partnership”.en_US
