The handbook contains data related to child population trends especially in relation to States/UTs under varying age groups, sex ratios, age at marriage; vital statistics including infant mortality, fertility and changes therein with passage of time, State/UT wise deaths by age groups, infanticide and foeticide rates; age- and year-wise vaccination rates, achievement of targets along different parameters of health, percentages of undernourished and malnourished (due to stunting, wasting, underweight), age-wise nutrient intake, year-wise breastfed children, those on exclusive breastfeeding, achievements of targets of prophylaxis, nutritional deficiency, anaemia and prevalence of morbidity; literacy rates, growth of educational institutions, distribution of schools and teachers, enrolment and drop-out rates, expenditure on education versus gross domestic product; distribution of ICDS projects and creches, data related to women and juveniles in prisons/ convicted under IPC and SLL crimes by age and sex, children reporting abuse; State/ UT wise main and marginal workers by age, sex and residence, etc.en_US
