Abstract

According to the latest Economic Survey of the Government of India, while the economic reforms set in motion two and a half year ago have resulted in many accomplishments which have improved the nation's economic profile, there is much that remains to be done. The economy's record during the year 1993-94 has been a mixed one. While successes in some key variables have gone beyond expectations, there are areas where the performance has not been so very encouraging. The key economic indicators are presented in Table 1.1.
